Soccer is a very popular youth sport in Woodbury, with hundreds of kids participating on fields throughout our city. This photo of 7-year-old Aleyna Woelfel captures the joy many kids experience playing sports.

 

When Hai Phan was scouting locations for his restaurant, he came across the modest strip shopping center in Woodbury that would become home to Thanh Truc.

 

Woodbury’s own Aleks Knezevich is starring as Danny in the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres’ current production of Grease.  Knezevich, who attended Woodbury High School, decided to join choir his junior year.

 

Dave Nimmer has led a busy life. His decades-long career in media included jobs at the Minneapolis Star (back before it became the Star Tribune) and WCCO, in addition to teaching journalism at the University of St. Thomas.

 

While most marathoners worry about staying hydrated, a group of Woodbury runners prays their 26.2-mile effort will help fund clean water for people in Africa.

 

Started in 1991, Run N Fun has been a favorite among runners for nearly 26 years. Owner Kari Bach started the company with her husband because of his love of running. “It was more my husband’s dream; he was a pretty accomplished runner.

 

One local author is capturing the glamour, glitz and gossip of the true stories of old Hollywood one book at a time, and proving you’re never too old to begin anew.

 

Mental health isn’t something you have to go through alone. Dr.

 

Local dentist Dr. George Kinney Jr. didn’t necessarily intend to spend thousands of hours over the course of his career volunteering, but “when you say ‘yes,’ you get presented with lots of opportunities to help and learn,” he says.
 

 

Woodbury author Brian Freeman is back with Marathon, an intense installation in his Jonathan Stride series.

Shouazong “Faith” Hang is not an average high school student. The teen, who will graduate from East Ridge High School next spring, has a role in many activities and is succeeding through it all.
